 The Best 5-Ingredient, No Boil Fruit Spread Recipe that you can use If you want to take advantage of fruit in season or on sale and preserve it quickly, easily, and with little cost. I am sharing a lemon blueberry recipe but you can make many variations! The sky is the limit here with fruit variations in this base recipe. 

 FLAVOUR VARIATION IDEAS: 

Simply swap lemon & blueberry in the recipe below for:

Strawberry  Rhubarb Jam
1 cup strawberry, 1.5 cup rhubarb then same chia, maple syrup & salt measurements 

Blackberry Saskatoon Berry Jam 
1 cup blackberries + 1 cup Saskatoon berries then the same chia, salt & maple syrup ingredients 

 

How to use it? On toast, in yogurt bowls, as a dessert topping, as a pie or tart filling, on bbq meat as a chutney, etc etc.

The Best 5-Ingredient, No Boil Fruit Spread Recipe

The Best Fruit Spread! No Boil and only 5-Ingredients. There are so many flavor combinations you can use and many ways to use it. This recipe is part of the 5-ingredient recipe series that supports you to eat nutrient-dense foods, in simple ways, while being mindful of food inflation for increased access. 
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Course staples
Servings 3 cups

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups Blueberries frozen or fresh
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 tbsp Maple Syrup
  • 2 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • pinch sea salt or sugar if you want to add sweetener

Instructions
 

  • Add everything but chia seeds to a small saucepan over medium-low heat. When the blueberries begin to release their juices, let the mixture simmer for about 5 min 
  • Remove from stove & Stir in the chia seeds & allow the mixture starts to thicken as it cools

Notes

Store in the fridge for 3 weeks or freezer for 6 months
