Clean Chocolate Dipped Fruit. Not sure what more I can say about it other than it’s simple, easy and delicious. I would like to say that I only create this platter of beautiful chocolate-dipped fruits when company is coming, but I have to admit that I often make this to just have around the house. When a sweet craving comes on, it’s great to have this treat on hand.
I think of this as a guilt-free dessert. By using raw cacao powder and coconut oil, I know I am getting the benefits of minerals such as magnesium and good fats, which helps manage stress, lubricate joints and promote relaxation. Fruit, of course, has sugar, yet unlike processed and refined sugars that the body has difficulty breaking down (often storing it in fat cells), the sugar contained in fruit comes with fiber, vitamins and minerals that assist the body to break down these natural sugars and be more easily assimilated and used for energy.
Easy, Dairy-Free Chocolate Dipped Fruit: 3 ways
Ingredients
For the chocolate sauce:
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1 tbsp. maple syrup
- 1 tsp. vanilla bean powder
- 2 tbsp. raw cacao powder
Chocolate Dipped Pineapple with Toasted Coconut
- 1 small pineapple cut into rings
- 1/4 cup toasted coconut flakes
Chocolate Dipped Pears with Merlot Sea Salt
- 2-3 pears
- 2 tbsp. merlot finishing salt (or any finishing salt of your choice)
Chocolate Dipped Kiwi with Hemp Hearts
- 4 kiwi peeled and sliced
- 2 tbsp. hemp hearts
Instructions
For the chocolate sauce:
- Place coconut oil and maple syrup in a saucepan over low-medium heat. Stir with a wooden spoon until melted.
- Add the vanilla bean and cacao powder and stir until well mixed. Take the pan off the heat and immediately begin dipping your fruit.
- You can use whatever fruits you like for this, so get creative. In this recipe, I have provided three of my favorite combinations.
Chocolate Dipped Pineapple with Toasted Coconut
- Slice a small pineapple into rings Dip half the ring into the warm chocolate sauce Lay the pineapple on its side on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper Sprinkle toasted coconut over top Place the dipped pears in the fridge for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to set and serve
Chocolate Dipped Pears with Merlot Sea Salt
- Rinse and pat the pears dry You can either slice the pears and dip ½ of each slice into the chocolate sauce or, for a more dramatic effect, keep the pear whole and dip the bottom half into the chocolate. After dipping, set them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper Sprinkle good quality sea salt or a flavored finishing sea salt over the chocolate. I love the merlot sea salt for its beautiful color Place the dipped pears in the fridge for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to set, and serve
Chocolate Dipped Kiwi with Hemp Hearts
- Peel the kiwis and cut them into slices. To reduce the liquid, which makes the chocolate harder to set, it is best to select kiwis that are fairly firm. It is also is easier to cut these firm kiwis into nicely shaped slices. Dip half the kiwi slice into the warm chocolate sauce Lay the kiwi on its side on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper Sprinkle with hemp hearts Place the dipped kiwi in the fridge for 5 minutes to allow the chocolate to set, and serve
