Homemade Organic Hot Chocolate

Real Organic Chocolate melted into hot milk with warming spices make this ancient Mayan drink come to life.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz dark organic chocolate
  • 4 cups organic whole milk use vegan alternatives as needed
  • 1 vanilla bean, scraped
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon (reserve 1 tsp for topping).
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or coconut sugar
  • pinch pink Himalayan salt

Instructions
 

  • Roughly chop the chocolate and place into a pot over low-medium heat. Stirring with a wooden spoon to ensure it does not burn.
  • Meanwhile, slice the vanilla bean in half and with a knife scrape out the inside and reserve.
  • Once the chocolate is melted, add everything but the milk. Stir well for about 1 minute.
  • Slowly pour in the milk, whisking until the milk is heated through and the mixture is a consistent color.
  • Pour into mugs, top with extra cinnamon.

Notes

For an extra special cup, top it off with coconut whip cream! Yummy.
