I knew I did not want my kids to be excluded from holiday celebrations but I wanted them to associate celebrating with fun, family, and good times and not just sugary treats. A few years ago, I began completely revamping how I make my kids Easter Baskets and including more games and toys than food. Easter is often a sign that spring is around the corner, so providing them outdoor games and activities is a great way to get excited about spring.

I’ve received a number of questions from other mom’s asking for tips about helping their kids make healthier choices? Over the years I have had my own struggles as a mom. There are good days and bad days. Learning the balance between educating your kids versus pushing them so far the other direction has taken me years to figure out and being able to admit when I have made mistakes.
I am super excited for this Hallowe’en and have joined The Teal Pumpkin Project! If you are unfamiliar with it, the project was started to raise awareness of food allergies and to promote the inclusion of all trick-or-treaters on Halloween night.
